A couples massage brings two therapists to your door so both of you are treated at the same time. It is popular for anniversaries, birthdays, a quiet date night or simply a weekend treat that avoids a spa commute.

Space and set-up
Two massage beds need a living room or large bedroom, with room to walk around both. Aim for about three metres by three if you can. Move the coffee table aside, dim the lights and lower the music. Two therapists set up in a few minutes and leave once you have finished.
Choosing the style
Both of you can have the same treatment or different ones. Swedish massage is the usual choice for celebrations and anniversaries because the pressure is gentle for both people. If one of you prefers firmer work, the therapists can adjust each side separately.
